The number of people allowed to gather indoors amid the coronavirus pandemic will increase from 10 to 25 people beginning March 19, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Wednesday.

The governor also said outdoor gatherings will be capped at 50 people, up from 25. The new indoor and outdoor limits don’t apply to religious services or ceremonies, political events, weddings, funerals or memorial services since they have higher limits — or none, in some cases — for indoor and outdoor gatherings.
