New pieces are being added to the puzzle surrounding Ajay Sah, the Drew University student who disappeared more than a month ago.

According to footage recently disclosed to Shiva Sah, brother of the missing Nepalese student, Sah was seen crossing the Brooklyn Bridge alone between 1 am and 5 am on Jan. 20, 2021 – one day after students reported seeing him last on the campus in Madison, NJ.

This is the first update to the case since investigators revealed that Sah had been seen on camera leaving New York’s Penn Station shortly after midnight on Jan. 20.

According to flyers posted by Sah’s family and friends on Instagram, an open laptop and study materials were found on Sah’s desk. They say this indicates Sah may have planned to return after his trip into New York.

In a March 3 email to Drew students, Frank Merckx, vice president of enrollment management and student life, thanked them “for continuing to work, in so many ways, to bring Ajay Sah home.”

They have brought media attention to the case, translating and sharing flyers on social media and posting them in trafficked areas where they live in hopes of finding answers, Merckx said.

He encouraged students to keep sharing information and monitoring Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages dedicated to finding Sah.

Madison Police Detective Ryan Dunn is assigned to the case, but students should call (973-593-3000) or email him only to report information, Merckx said.

“Please do not call to request updates; they are not able to share information regarding an ongoing investigation, and responding to such calls takes valuable resources from the investigative work,” the Drew official said.

Drop-in support sessions for students in need remain available at the Drew Center for Counseling and Psychological Services,  Merckx said.

Social media accounts dedicated to finding Sah have shared missing person flyers in Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin and Portuguese in recent days.
