For the next three Tuesdays, the Morristown & Township Library will present 40-minute Mindful Movement exercise programs, via Zoom.

The 7 pm sessions are presented in partnership with the Long Hill Library, and instructor Anita Pacheco, who taught some  outdoor yoga and qigong classes at the Morristown library in 2020.

Mindful Movement is described as “gently moving our bodies while calming our minds.”

Using our breath, imagery and alignment, we will distract the overstimulated mind by changing its focus. With various movements and postures we will release areas of tension, gain strength and find new sources of energy and vitality.  The result: joyfulness and a feeling of peacefulness.

To participate from home, you should wear comfortable clothing, either barefoot or with non-skid shoes, the library advises. A chair is used a prop. Set up yours on a non-skid surface, with space to sit on it, stand beside it, behind it and in front of it with arms outstretched.

Sessions are scheduled for Jan, 12, 19 and 26, 2021.
