Adopt A Morristown Business Program Surpasses $100k In Donations

The Town of Morristown is extremely excited to announce that the new Adopt a Business Morristown Campaign has just surpassed $100,000 in local donations!

“In the midst of a global pandemic and a holiday season like no other,” Mayor Timothy Dougherty said, “Morristown residents showed up. We are blown away by the response we’ve seen over the last two months.

“Because of each of you, your donation – in sum surpassing $100,000 – is helping our business community keep their lights on, their doors open, and their shelves stocked.”

Adopt a Business Morristown is a grassroots fundraising initiative that was established just two months ago by a local Morristown group including Mayor Tim Dougherty, Tom Ferrara, William Draper, Kris Ferrara, Art Lash, Mary Dougherty, Dave Walters and Melissa Anderson with a simple goal: Help small businesses get through the coming winter.

Each participating business or restaurant has a GoFundMe page that can be accessed through the AdoptaBusinessMorristown.org website. Each business or restaurant will set a GoFund- Me goal approximating five months of rent.

The Morristown Community continues to be strong and resilient. In just two months, over $100,000 has been raised in support of our small businesses, helping to provide the resources they will need to get them through the winter. Let’s continue to step up and help our Business Community get through this Winter!

“As your Mayor, witnessing this response has been heartwarming in this difficult time,” said the mayor. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Morristown. We are still accepting do- nations, so if you would like to join the countless residents who have already helped, go to AdoptABusinessMorristown.org for more information and donation options.”
