You can’t keep a good elf down.

The annual Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green has taken a year off because of…you know.

But a socially distanced Santa will be returning, with a little help from the Morristown Fire Department, on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020.

And he’ll be sticking around for the holiday season, at 17 North Park Place, next door to where Rite Aid used to be.

Here’s more.

From the Morristown Partnership:

Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020: The Morristown Partnership is pleased to announce that Santa will be visiting Morristown on Sunday, Nov. 29th from 1 to 4:00 p.m.

All State and local mandated safety protocols will be strictly adhered to; therefore, Santa will remain socially distant while guiding his way throughout town via fire engine thanks to the Morristown Fire Bureau.

Mask up and plan your holiday shopping, dining, take-out or curbside pickup in Morristown on Sunday the 29th to coincide with the holiday cheer.

Beginning Saturday, Dec. 5th, families are welcome to visit the ‘North Pole at North Park Place’ which will offer children the opportunity to see Santa at the end of a socially distant stroll to 17 North Park Place; visitors will be able to communicate with Santa through the window.

The North Pole at North Park Place will be welcoming visitors on Saturdays and Sundays between the hours of 1 and 4:00 p.m. on Dec. 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th. No food and/or drink will be permitted, social distancing markers will be provided and masks must be worn by visitors at all times.

For over 100 years, generations of residents and visitors have come to the heart of downtown Morristown to enjoy the magic of the holiday season. It began in 1913 with a small group of festive volunteers lighting a single star atop one tree on the Morristown Green.

As in years past, the Morristown Partnership will once again brighten the season with holiday lights on the Green for all to enjoy. Santa’s mailbox will be located on the Green and accept letters from children throughout the month.

Many thanks to our North Pole host property owner Morristown Green LLC, as well as returning sponsor Atlantic Health System/Morristown Medical Center, and additional sponsors: Morristown Airport, 40 North Restaurants and Lakeland Bank.

Without the support of our sponsors in 2020 our modified holiday programming would not have been possible. This event is entirely privately funded, and therefore we also offer our thanks to donors to our Annual Appeal mail campaign and welcome any additional donations.
