0

A wind advisory from the National Weather Service says Greater Morristown can expect gusts of up to 45 mph through 3 pm today, Monday, Nov. 2, 2020.

Already, there has been damage:

In Morris Plains, 1,860 JCP&L customers– nearly three-fourths of everyone served by the utility in the borough–were without electricity as of 2 pm.

Another 174 customers were out in Morris Township, and 11 in Morristown, according to JCP&L. Across Morris County, 3,467 customers had lost power.

Morris Township police report the Burnham/Fairchild area may be without electricity for eight hours.

Skyline Drive from Mount Kemble Avenue to Hays Drive was closed around noontime because of a fallen tree.  A portion of Normandy Parkway that was shut down earlier is reopened.

Morristown officials warn residents to avoid any downed wires, and to report outages to JCP&L at 888-544-4877, or online at http://spr.ly/report,  or by texting OUT to 544487.
