Morristown pedestrian critically injured by motorist

A 39 year old Morristown man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night, police said on Monday.

The man was treated for “severe traumatic head injuries” at the scene, near 87 Ridgedale Ave., and was taken to Morristown Medical Center, said Lt. Stuart Greer.

The driver remained present and is cooperating with authorities, Greer said.

Names of the victim and the motorist were not released.

Morristown police were assisted by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Morris County Sheriff’s Department.

  1. Thank you for the language used in reporting this crash. Too often, a headline says “person” hit by “car.” There are people on both sides–the pedestrian (or bicycle rider) and the motorist (or driver.) And, good to remember, they’re involved in a crash, not an accident.
