Morristown police reported downed utility lines on Ford Avenue as of 4 pm on Thursday; the roadway was closed to traffic between Morris Avenue and Hill Street.
Nearly 1,200 customers lost power, according to Jersey Central Power & Light, which predicted electricity would be restored by 6 pm.
