From Grow it Green Morristown:

Help us Act Against Hunger Together

Kings Food Markets continues its fight against hunger by once again partnering with nonprofit Grow It Green Morristown. Kings has been a supporter of Grow It Green for many years and renewed their commitment to support Grow It Green Morristown in 2020.

In New Jersey, nearly 900,000 people are “food insecure,” defined as the lack of access to affordable, healthy food. Through Kings’ Act Against Hunger initiative, Kings is making an important impact in the communities they serve.

Along with their customers and partners, Kings donated over 152,000 pounds of food to hunger relief efforts in New Jersey, Long Island and Connecticut, providing over 18,000 meals to people in need.

“Kings is proud to be the exclusive grocery sponsor of Grow It Green Morristown for their commitments to hunger relief, sustainability, and agricultural education in our community,” says Judy Spires, president & CEO of Kings Food Markets.

Shoppers can get involved in this partnership as well to further advance the mission of Grow It Green. Kings is hosting a Benefit Shopping Event in all their NJ stores the week of July 12th – July 18th, 2020. Mention Grow It Green when checking out, and 5 percent of the sales from your purchase up to $2,500 will be donated directly to Grow It Green Morristown.

“We are incredibly grateful to Kings for making long lasting investments in the local communities they serve, particularly when there is such great need. Kings and Grow It Green make a natural partnership, working together to support people in ways that have long term impacts beyond food donations. We appreciate your help to continue this work. Please shop on behalf of Grow It Green during the upcoming Benefit Shopping Event knowing that a portion of the sales go towards helping our community now,” said Lisa Alexander, executive director of Grow It Green Morristown.
