Now is when your giant screen TV and surround audio system prove themselves!
The coronavirus shut down the annual Family Day in Morris Plains over the weekend, but borough officials went forward with virtual fireworks.
That is, they staged real fireworks — for a stay-at-home audience watching a live-stream. You can replay it below. So spread your lawn chairs in a prime spot under your flat screen, turn down the lights, and turn up your subwoofer:

From the Morris Plains Mayor and Council:
BOROUGH OF MORRIS PLAINS VIRTUAL FIREWORKS DISPLAY SATURDAY, JUNE 27, 2020, rain date, SUNDAY, JUNE 28, 2020 9:15 P.M.
Unfortunately, the Borough’s Annual Family Day had to be canceled due restrictions on gatherings, as well as many other guidelines pertaining to food and children’s activities.
However, we want to deliver to you the excitement of our annual Fireworks Display. Although, it will be viewed virtually this year’s display will be bigger and better with fireworks going 250 feet to 500 feet in the air!
Fireworks show will live stream at: http://fireworks.soutar.tech
Community Park will close to the public on Saturday, 27, 2020, at 11:00 A.M as the vendor sets up. Spectators will not be permitted in Community Park during or after the fireworks display. The coronavirus pandemic has caused the canceling of many of this year’s events, that is the main reason for moving forward sharing the Fireworks Display virtually. Hopefully, you will find the display exciting as we celebrate Independence Day.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
So you can gather to protest, but we are unable to gather and celebrate Independence Day?
