Here comes the sun. And doesn’t it feel wonderful?

Many parks reopened this weekend, with the governor’s blessing, and admonitions to continue practicing social distancing to beat back the pandemic.

Morristown Green contributor grabbed his camera and headed to Speedwell Lake in Morristown to document this joyful occasion. Thanks, Jeff. Great to have you back!

  1. This entire area was proposed to be developed with lakeside condos, a while back. We can thank Friends of Speedwell and the Cutler Park neighborhood and and their supporters for taking the developer and the Town to court to fight that first approval/ By preserve this treasure, enabling the Passaic River coalition to purchase the land one one side of the lake. The laws protecting Riparian buffers prevented the Town from moving forward to develop the park side. Their efforts gave Morristown a legacy far more important for everyones quality of life than potential taxes from any condo development could have done.
