For 33 springs, the Memorial Day Parade in Morris Plains has marked the unofficial start of summer with marching bands, flyovers, hot dogs, and, of course, salutes and wreaths honoring America’s fallen heroes.
But not this spring.
The 34th annual parade, set for may 23, 2020, has been cancelled because of the corona virus pandemic, organizer Steve Welsh said Tuesday.
“Please look forward to May 29, 2021, when we will hold our next parade,” Welsh said.
Stay safe, everyone. See you next spring.
