Superheroes come in many shapes and sizes.
Superhero Events is the organizer of the popular Halloween Half Marathon, the Superhero Half Marathon, and the St. Patty’s 5K in Greater Morristown.
The business has donated proceeds from next month’s planned Superhero Half Marathon, which has been turned into a virtual event, to four restaurants providing food for the workers at Morristown Medical Center.
“We were happy to do it,” Chris Russo, co-founder of Superhero Events, said of the $10,000 dollar donation.
“Every event we do, there’s a charity we donate to to begin with, and this year we decided to pick the most obvious one,” said the Morristown resident.

Of the donated money, $3,000 went to Millie’s Old World Meatballs and Pizza, $3,000 went to Chef Fredy’s Table, $3,000 went to Columbia Inn, and $1,000 went to Morristown Bagel & Deli.
All are in Morristown save for Columbia Inn, which is in Montville.
“We’re lucky that we have so many people sign up for our events where we’re able to donate amounts like that,” said Russo.
As for the half-marathon, Russo said competitors still can run the 13-mile event on their own while practicing social distancing. Then they can upload their times.
Russo said he trusts the competitors will be truthful with their times. There will be no prizes for the winners.
