  • Age range: 0-90
  • Average age: 44.5
  • 58 percent are within ages 18-46

Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty urged residents to continue observing the governor’s social distancing mandates, and resist the temptation to congregate outside when warm spring weather arrives.

Across the state, Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli shared these details about COVID-19 victims:

  • Under age 30: 3 (1 percent)
  • Ages 30-49: 12 (12 percent)

At least 42 percent had underlying conditions: Obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, and pulmonary disease. The other fatalities remain under investigation.

Some 52 deaths (19 percent) were associated with longterm care facilities. At least one resident has tested positive for COVID-19 in 81 of 375 longterm care facilities in New Jersey.

The governor expressed condolences for families of a pair of victims whose ages were 33 and 30.
