From the Morristown United Methodist Church:

Abendmusik, the concert series sponsored by Music At Morristown United Methodist Church, will continue its 2019-2020 season with a concert on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at 7:30 pm, featuring the Leonieke Scheuble Trio.

Leonieke (pronounced lay-o-nee-ka) was a child prodigy. At the age of 5 or 6, without any prior musical training, she began to spending time at the piano creating pieces that were rhythmically interesting and compositionally balanced.

At age 7, Leonieke recorded a handful of pieces including two of her own compositions. This was brought to the attention of a prominent jazz pianist, who then agreed to take her on as a student. The rest is history.

At 14, Leonieke was privileged to speak at TEDx, delivering an insightful talk on applying child-like enthusiasm to life’s endeavors.

Most recently, Leonieke was honored to be selected by Carnegie Hall/Weill Music Institute as an alternate musician for their 2018 NYO JAZZ season. She has performed regularly, both as a featured artist and leading her trio, at many of New York and New Jersey’s finest jazz venues.

Suggested donation for the concert is $25 for adults and $20 for seniors. Advance tickets are available ($22 adults/$17 seniors) by calling 973-538-2132 or online here. Students with ID are admitted free.

The church is at 50 Park Place.

The 2019-2020 Abendmusik season concludes on March 21 with Imperial Brass, followed on April 18  by a Festival Choir Concert celebrating 40 years of concerts at the Morristown United Methodist Church.
