The Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown will present a free screening of Harriet, starring Oscar-nominated actress Cynthia Erivo, on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at 7 pm.
Based on the thrilling and inspirational life of an iconic American freedom fighter, Harriet tells the extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman’s escape from slavery and transformation into one of America’s greatest heroes. Starring Best Actress nominee Cynthia Erivo, and led by black, female director Kasi Lemmons, this film marks the first major motion picture about this renowned figure and her courage, ingenuity and tenacity that changed the course of history.
