The Morris Museum will explore 500 years of black history. Rent marks its 20th anniversary. And the Oscars get their due at the Morristown & Township Library.
THURSDAY, FEB. 6, 2020:
The Morristown & Township Library continues its Film Noir series with free screenings of L.A. Confidential (1997) starring Kevin Spacey and Kim Basinger, at 2 pm and 6:45 pm. Light refreshments. At One Miller Road, Morristown.
Morris Arts hosts a closing reception for its Expresiones Latinx I exhibition at the Gallery at 14 Maple, from 6 pm to 8 pm. The show features works by 21 artists on the themes Nature/Environment; Dreams; Barriers; Love; Dance; Music; Sports; and The Streets. Admission: Free. Morristown’s 70 South Gallery celebrates its 25th exhibition, Juxtaposed Manifesto of the States of Matter, with a reception for photographers Judi Benvenuti, Mia Mutascio and student photographer Lily Wieder, at 6 pm. At 70 South St. RSVP here.
The Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series in Morris Township presents its Valentine’s Day Extravaganza, featuring top performers from the Folk Project, at 7:30 in Morris Township. Grow It Green Morristown hosts the Seventh Annual Winter Farmers Market, from 10 am to 1 pm at the Alexander Hamilton School in Morristown. More than a dozen regional vendors sell everything from pasture-fed meat to winter produce, every Sunday through March 29, 2020. This week, Farmer Tina will sell vegetable-themed Valentines Day cards; local artist Casey O’Brien will sell some of her work; and Be Well hosts a donation-based yoga class at 10:30.
