Kelsey Grammer, who starred as therapist Frasier Crane in the hit sitcoms Frasier and Cheers, made a house call at Morristown’s Stirling Tavern on Wednesday afternoon.
“He’s a real nice, down-to-earth guy,” said tavern General Manager Nick Casino.
Grammer spent about an hour greeting several dozen patrons at the bar on South Street. He has been visiting area establishments promoting Faith American Ale, a draft beer from his brewery in Margaretville, NY.
In his promotional materials, Grammer says his golden ale is inspired by happy times in the Catskills, and “smells, looks and tastes like life well lived; like the fields and the sky and the sun have been brewed in every sip.”
Rob Staats, a Stirling Tavern patron and founder of the Garden State BrewFest, put it another way.
“It’s what we call ‘crushable,'” he said, describing a solid, no-nonsense beer.
“In they go, and out they go.”
