THURSDAY, JAN. 23, 2020:

The Morristown United Methodist Church presents Music at Noon, featuring Remembering the Future (Elena Bird, soprano; Anthony Cecere, French horn) at 12:15 pm. Suggested donation:$10/$8 seniors, free for students with ID. Complimentary coffee and tea are served at 11:30 am.  At 50 Park Place (on the Green).

Medical Aspects of the Civil War.

The North Jersey Civil War Round Table presents Dr. Patricia Dreyfus discussing The Medical Aspects of the Civil War, at 7:14 pm in Morris Township. Admission: $5; students, free. At the Frelinghuysen Arboretum’s Haggerty Education Center, 353 E. Hanover Ave.

 

The Morristown & Township Library hosts a 7:30 pm reception for artist Maya Tillman, whose exhibition, Woman–Her Story, runs through Feb 28, 2020. Free. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

FRIDAY, JAN. 24:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series in Morris Township presents The Loose Canons, with opener Jesse Ruben, at 7:30 in Morris Township. Admission: $10; children 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center presents The Simon & Garfunkel Story at 8 pm. Tickets: $39-$69. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.


SATURDAY, JAN. 25:

The Garden State Comic Fest: Winter Edition runs from 10 am to 6 pm in East Hanover. Admission: $15. At the Fairbridge Hotel & Conference Center (now the OYO Hotel), 130 Route 10.

Craving comfort food?  Mac & Cheese Mayhem runs from 11 am to 8 pm at the Morristown Armory in Morris Township. Admission: $5. At 430 Western Ave.; free parking. Read our preview.

Learn about maple sugaring at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center in Chatham Township, sessions at 1 pm and 2:30 pm Saturday and Sunday. Admission: $4, ages 3 and up. Seating is first come, first served. At 247 Southern Blvd., 973-635-6629.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown presents Messiaen: Quartet for the End of Time, at 7 pm. Pre-concert lecture at 6 pm. Tickets: $20-$25; children and students, free. At 121 South St.

SUNDAY, JAN. 26:

Grow It Green Morristown hosts the Seventh Annual Winter Farmers Market, from 10 am to 1 pm at the Alexander Hamilton School in Morristown. More than a dozen regional vendors will sell everything from pasture-fed meat to winter produce. Every Sunday through March 29, 2020.

The Morristown Unitarian Fellowship in Morris Township hosts a free 1 pm screening of the environmental documentary Paris to Pittsburgh. Sponsored by the Green Earth Ministry at the Fellowship, the Morristown Chapter of Citizen’s Climate Lobby, and Sustainable Morristown. At 21 Normandy Heights Road.
