It’s Nutcracker time — the two-minute warning for holiday shopping!
This strange tale of Mouse Kings, Sugar Plums and Snow Queens pirouettes into the Mayo Performing Arts Center for a 14-show run, while Santa continues to entertain visitors at his royal court a block away on the Morristown Green.
And that’s just for starters this weekend in Greater Morristown.

THURSDAY, DEC. 12, 2019:
Music at Noon continues its 40th season at the Morristown United Methodist Church with a 12:15 pm concert by harpist Merynda Adams and violinist Christopher Collins Lee. Admission: Free. Coffee and tea served at 11:30 am. At 50 S. Park Place. Read all about it here.

The County College of Morris in Randolph presents a stage adaptation of Miracle on 34th Street at 7:30 pm, in the Dragonetti Auditorium. Tickets are $10-$15. Directed by Professor Marielaine Mammon. At 214 Center Grove Road; park in Lots 6 and 7.
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison presents Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, directed by Brian Crowe, at 8 pm. Runs through Dec. 29, 2019. FRIDAY, DEC. 13:
Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.
The 28th annual Gingerbread Wonderland & Craft Show continues its run, from 10 am to 7:30 pm, at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township. The show continues through Dec. 15, 2019. Admission: $2; children under age 2, free. Craft show on weekends only. At 353 East Hanover Ave., 973-326-7601.
The Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green , presented by the Morristown Partnership, resumes from 3 pm to 8 pm. Santa will take requests, miniature trains will circle the Green, and an activities tent will open its flaps. Hear a 6 pm concert by local students from Rhythms for Life, a program of the Edwards Violin Studio, the Morris County chapter of The Links Inc. and the Morristown Neighborhood House. The New Jersey Ballet’s Nutcracker dances into Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 pm, kicking off a 14-show run through Dec. 27, 2019. Tickets:$29-$69. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.
