THURSDAY, DEC. 5, 2019:

Music at Noon kicks off its 40th season at the Morristown United Methodist Church with a 12:15 pm concert by the Bishop of Jazz, pianist Rio Clemente. Admission: Free. Coffee and tea served at 11:30 am. At 50 S. Park Place.  Read all about it here.

The Morristown & Township Library continues its Film Noir series with free screenings of The Killing (Sterling Hayden, 1956), at 2 pm and 6:45 pm. Light refreshments. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

IMPORTANT UPDATE! The show must–and will–go on! The Shakespeare Theatre promises a great show, as it works to overcome a dastardly cyber attack. The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison presents Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, directed by Brian Crowe, in previews at 8 pm. Runs through Dec. 29, 2019. FRIDAY, DEC. 6:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The 28th annual Gingerbread Wonderland & Craft Show begins its run, from 10 am to 7:30 pm, at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township. The show continues through Dec. 15, 2019. Admission: $2; children under age 2, free. Craft show on weekends only. At  353 East Hanover Ave., 973-326-7601.

The Morris County Tourism Bureau presents a three-day Holly Walk–tour seven historic sites in Greater Morristown with one ticket. Admission: $30 in advance, $35 at event. Venue hours vary, from 4 pm to 8 pm today. Tickets available at the Tourism Bureau, 6 Court St., Morristown; call 973-631-5151. Read all about it here.

The Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green kicks off from 3 pm to 8 pm. Santa will be taking requests, miniature trains will circle the Green, and an activities tent will open its flaps. Presented by the Morristown Partnership. Free, except for $10 photos with Santa. The Festival runs through Dec. 22, 2019.  Read all about it here.

This weekend’s 8th annual Community Nativity Exhibit starts at 6 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 283 James St. in Morris Township. More than 300 creches. Free.  At 283 James St. From 6 pm-9 pm Friday, and noon to 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The Morristown Unitarian Fellowship in Morris Township hosts its Gifts of Conscience Fairfeaturing holiday gifts that benefit charitable groups and organizations from around the world, as well as free trade items, from 6:30 pm until 9 pm, and again on Saturday (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Sunday (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). The Morristown & Township Library presents It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, performed by The Classic Radio Road Show, at 7 pm. Free. For all ages; refreshments. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

It’s Chorus Song Night at The Troubadour in Morris Township at 7:30 pm. Sing along with favorite performers from the Folk Project.  Admission: $10; children 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

The County College of Morris in Randolph presents its Winter Music Concert at 7:30 p.m., featuring the CCM Concert Choir and Wind Ensemble. Free. At the Dragonetti Auditorium in the Student Community Center.  At 214 Center Grove Road.

The Tenth Annual Christmas Craft Market  will be held at Assumption Church in Morristown, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission: Free.  A portion of proceeds benefits two local charities operating in Africa: Africa Surgery Inc. and The Village Angels of Tanzania Inc. At 91 Maple Ave.

The Morris County Park Commission presents Park Palooza, featuring 20 food trucks, two bands, a biergarten, family-themed games and activities, and photos with Santa, from noon to 5 pm at Central Park of Morris County in Morris Plains. The Morristown National Historical Park and the Washington Association of New Jersey present a free concert at 1 pm featuring the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey (BONJ), led by maestro Robert Butts, and pianist Peter Toth. Selections from Handel’s Messiah, and works by Gabrieli, Bach, Fasch and Corelli. At the Washington’s Headquarters Museum, 30 Washington Place, Morristown.

Grow It Green Morristown hosts the Seventh Annual Winter Farmers Market, from 10 am to 1 pm at the Alexander Hamilton School in Morristown. More than a dozen regional vendors will sell everything from pasture-fed meat to winter produce. Every Sunday (except Dec. 29) through March 29, 2020.
