Score another one for Old Man Winter.
Officials of the Morris School District had planned for a delayed opening this morning, Monday, Dec. 2, 2019, but they thought better of it, and have canceled classes because of the predicted winter storm.
The first snow day of this school year is Greater Morristown’s second big cancellation: Sunday night’s arrival of Santa on the Morristown Green was called off because of a wintry mix of weather.
As of 6 am Monday, the National Weather Service was forecasting six- to 10 inches of snow for Greater Morristown. It’s anticipated to start during the morning, and to become heavy at times into the evening. A Winter Storm Warning extends until 4 am on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
