The Morristown Green sported a gloppy coating of snow as of 3 pm, and the National Weather Service predicted another five inches could fall before its Winter Storm Warning expires at 4 am on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019.

Classes were canceled in the Morris School District on Monday, and the Morristown & Township Library was closed.

Morristown police responded to nine minor motor vehicle accidents during the day, said Michael Corcoran Jr., the town’s public safety director.

Morristown residents can park free in two Morristown Parking Authority garages until 8 am on Tuesday.

If you must travel during Monday’s evening commute, use caution.  From the National Weather Service:

Travel will become difficult. Hazardous conditions will impact the evening commute….Snow may be heavy at times this evening. Snowfall amounts will vary across the area with additional amounts of up to five inches possible.

A special meeting of the Morris Township committee remains a go for 6:30 pm Monday, according to the Township’s website.
