Editor’s note: We posted last week that power will be shut off along several Morristown streets on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, to accommodate electrical connections for the new apartment building next to town hall. Here is more, from local authorities.

From the Morristown Police:

James Street, between Maple Avenue and South Street will be closed to vehicle traffic to accommodate planned utility work that will need the full roadway width.

As a part of the planned utility work, power will be suspended to limited addresses in town. Fliers were distributed and phone notifications were made to those addresses that fall within the outage map, approximately 40 in total. If you did not receive a notice, your address is not one scheduled to be affected.

From 6 am until 5 pm, James Street traffic will be diverted to Miller Road and Maple Avenue to bypass the one-block closure. Please plan an alternate route for Tuesday, and follow posted detours if in the area.
