The new Morris Music Coalition built a solid foundation, brick by brick, on Sunday at the Morris Museum’s Bickford Theatre in Morris Township.
A dozen area musicians performed Pink Floyd’s classic 1979 album The Wall before a packed house of fans who seemed to enjoy the multimedia production as much as the players did.

Co-directed by pianist Peter Favilla, who was celebrating his 26th birthday, and multi-instrumentalist Sharon Brackelmanns of the bands Soular Bone and Squeaky Wheels, the show began rehearsals in March.
The efforts paid off with a poised, polished performance of a challenging rock opera, anchored by guitarists David Benson and John McCormack, who both also contributed vocals.

Additional vocals were supplied by Cristina Cappy, Karen Rosen, Dawn Patrick, Dan Baldan, drummer John Soward, and Favilla and Brackelmanns. Marc Kaufman added percussion, Drew Nagel played keyboard and Wayne Lyle, bass.

Favilla hopes to continue showcasing local talent. The coalition’s next act will have to be exceptional to become a brick in this wall.
