The canopy gets colorful. The air turns crisp. And Morristown celebrates its downtown.

On Sunday, the Morristown Festival on the Green will mark its 25th year.

The silver anniversary edition of this rite of autumn, running from noon to 5 pm on Sept. 29, 2019, promises a mix of music, activities for all ages, and eclectic food offerings. It’s a formula that has drawn thousands to Morristown every fall for the last quarter-century.

“This momentous anniversary year promises to be our best yet to showcase Morristown’s bustling community, unique historic setting and its wide range of outstanding restaurant, retail and service businesses,” said Karen Roettger, director of development for the Morristown Partnership, which organizes the fall festival, along with an annual Christmas festival on the Green, and a weekly Farmers Market.

“The scene will be set for all ages to come out, enjoy the day and see why Morristown has become the destination of choice for northern New Jersey,” Roettger said.

Entertainment for the rain-or-shine fall festival with include Joe Bilotti’s Heart of Gold Band on the Main Stage (South and DeHart Streets), and BIG HIX and Shorty Long & The Jersey Horns on the Star Stage (Washington Street).

For the third year, the Morristown Partnership Beer Tent will be pitched at Schuyler Place. Produced with The Famished Frog and HOPS Craft Bar, the tent will feature domestic crafts and several IPAs, for guests aged 21 and up.

Numerous restaurants will sell menu favorites from booths around the historic Green. The New Jersey Devils Mobile Unit is scheduled to visit North Park Place, and 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold at several locations.

For families, there will be carnival games, and a wide range of children’s amusements, including a dunk tank.

A Family Stage at Morris Street and Dumont Place will present Wallaby Tales, Miss Jolie Music, Polka Dot! And the TropyBand Orquesta.

During the event, parking will be free on the street and at these garages:

• Ann/Bank Street Garage between Bank Street and Schuyler Place
• Dalton Parking Garage with entrance on Cattano Avenue
• DeHart Street Garage with entrances on Dehart Street and Maple Avenue
