Summer is in full swing, and you can swing into lots of free entertainment this week in Greater Morristown:
Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019: Morris Arts concludes its 10th season of Music Beyond Borders with Music Mariachi Citlalli: A Taste of Mexico, at 12:30 pm on the Morristown Green.
On Tuesday at 7 pm, Morris Township’s Department of Parks and Recreation presents One Fine Tapestry (Carole King). Bring a lawn chair or beach blanket to Ginty Field.
On Wednesday, Aug. 7, Morris Township presents a big-screen outdoor double feature: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Spaceballs. At dusk, at Ginty Field. Bring a lawn chair or beach blanket.
On Thursday, Aug. 8, the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown presents a free 10:30 am screening of Peter Rabbit. At 7:30 pm, MPAC presents a free screening of Airplane! At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.
Also on Thursday, Morris Arts presents music by Adam Najemian and live portraits by Anne Mitchell from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Gateway Totems at Grow it Green’s Early Street Community Garden.
On Sunday, Aug. 11, the 40-piece Morris Plains Community Band will
perform a free concert of Broadway and Hollywood tunes at 6:00 pm in Roberts Garden Park, at 99 Mountain Way. A 30-member choir will join the band for The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Rain date is Monday, Aug. 12, at 6 pm.
