THURSDAY, JULY 18, 2019:

Silent movies are much more fun with music, as organist Josh Stafford will demonstrate at 7 pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown. The 1927 film Sunrise, A Song of Two Humans stars George O’Brien and Janet Gaynor. Admission: $10; under 18, free. At South Street and Miller Road.

The Morris Museum’s Bickford Theatre Summer JazzFest presents Dan Levinson’s Hot Nights in Harlem at 7:30 pm. Tickets: $18-$20. Gourmet boxed dinners from Culinary Creations will be be available for $20-$25; they can be ordered in advance and picked up before the show at 6 pm. Beverage will be for sale. The Verizon Corporate Classic 5K returns to Morristown at 7:30 pm. The race starts and finishes at Morristown High School. Proceeds benefit Jersey Battered Women’s Services Inc.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents its outdoor production of William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged), at 8 pm in the amphitheater of the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morris Township. Tickets: $38; youths 18 and under, free. At 2 Convent Road, 973-408-5600.

FRIDAY, JULY 19:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

Jazz in July returns for its 15th summer at the Morristown & Township Library at 7 pm. The first of consecutive Friday night shows features the band Dixieland, with Tom Artin on trombone, John Halsey on piano, Joe Licari on clarinet, Randy Reinhart on cornet, Brian Nalepka on bass, and David Humm on drums. Tickets: $20; proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library. Refreshments will be served, and there will be a cash bar. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

David Massengill performs at the Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series in Morris Township, with opener Jean Scully & Friends, at 7:30 pm. Admission is $10; children 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

SATURDAY, JULY 20:

The Morris Plains Farmers Market is back for its 17th season, from 9 am to 2 pm every Saturday through Oct. 12, 2019, rain or shine, in the Merchant Block parking lot near the Model Railroad Club building.

Morristown PBA Local 43 hosts MoTown’s Finest 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, a benefit for the Morristown Neighborhood House. The action starts at 10 am at the Cauldwell Playground. Register here.

The Morristown Farmers Market is back for its 38th season, from 8:30 am to 2 pm every Sunday through Nov. 24, 2019. The Burnham Boys will perform at 10 am. At Lot 10, behind the Post Office, between Dumont Place and Morris Street. Presented by the Morristown Partnership.

The afternoon show is canceled because of the heat.
