Morristown has many musical treasures. Here is one of them.

Joshua Stafford, the award-winning organist at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, gave a rousing Fourth of July Stars & Pipes concert Thursday on the church’s magnificent 1930 Skinner organ for a large, enthusiastic crowd.

It was the second year of what should become an Independence Day tradition.

Crank your speakers and enjoy these audio treats.

And mark your calendars. Stafford will be providing organ accompaniment this summer to a pair of silent movies: Sunrise, A Song of Two Humans (1927, George O’Brien, Janet Gaynor) on Thursday, July 18, 2019; and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920, German) on Thursday, Aug. 22. Both films start at 7 pm at St. Peter’s. Admission: $10; under 18, free.

  1. I noticed Morristown green picks and chooses what comments to post and what they don’t want posted!

  2. While he is quite talented, fireworks 🎇 in town would be greatly appreciated and respected by the members of this historic community. Bring Patriotism and a sense of community back to a community whose officials only seem to care about developing it for the suites and those who will be commuting to our town to work at places like Deloitte.
