Starting on July 15, 2019, Cory Road in Morristown will be closed for up to a month, from Gregory Terrace to the Historic Speedwell parking lot, Mayor Tim Dougherty’s office announced on Monday.

The closure is for installation of a sewer line to serve the pending development on the former Colgate-Palmolive tract on East Hanover Avenue in Morris Township.

A 150,000 square-foot shopping center, 143 townhomes, and 60 rental units are proposed for the 64-acre site near the Morristown border.

The Mayor’s office said vehicular access to homes will be maintained during the construction, which will be dependent on the weather. The Historic Speedwell parking lot entrance from Cory Road/Speedwell Avenue will remain open. The railroad underpass will be closed.

The town apologized for any inconvenience, and asks motorists to follow the directions of police and construction personnel.

Officials also issued a notice in Spanish:
