Summer entertainment is in full swing this week in Greater Morristown. Check out all these options–many of them are free.


 

TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 2019:

Music Without Borders returns for its 10th season on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, with a free lunchtime concert by the Zydeco Revelators on the Morristown Green.  Presented by Morris Arts and the Mayo Performing Arts Center. The hour-long show starts at 12:30 pm. Rain venue: The Morristown United Methodist Church, 50 S. Park Place.

The Morris Township Recreation Department presents a free classic rock concert by The Kootz, at 7 pm at Ginty Field on Woodland Avenue. Bring lawn chairs or beach blankets. Here’s more about the free summer series.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26:

The Morristown & Township Library continues its Just Out of the Box movies series with free screenings of The Bookshop (2019, PG, Emily Mortimer, Patricia Clarkson) at 2 pm and 7 pm. Light refreshments. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

Morris Township’s recreation department kicks off its free outdoor movie series with Ralph Breaks the Internet (PG). The film starts at dusk, around 8:30 pm, but the fun begins ariund 7:30 pm, with deejay music and other family activities. Bring a lawn chair or beach blanket to Ginty Field, on Woodland Avenue.

THURSDAY, JUNE 27:

Tshila will headline at Meet Me in Morristown, June 27, 2019.

The Mayo Performing Arts Center presents Ugandan singer-songwriter Tshila in a free 6:30 pm concert on the Vail Mansion lawn, 110 South St., as the headliner for this month’s Meet Me in Morristown sidewalk fair. A handful of South Street businesses will have sidewalk sales starting at 11 am; arts, crafts and live entertainment runs from 5 pm to 9 pm. Meet Me in Morristown is a joint presentation of Morris Arts and the Morristown Partnership. Rain date: Friday, June 28.

The Morristown & Township Library continues its Pride Month Film Series with a free 7 pm screening of Pride (2014, British, R-rated). Light refreshments. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

Southside Johnny will give a rare acoustic performance, accompanied by Jeff Kazee, at the Morris Museum’s Bickford Theatre in Morris Township at 7:30 pm. The concert will follow a discussion of Southside Johnny’s career with the Asbury Jukes and the Poor Fools, led by Jay Lustig of NJArts.net. Tickets: $25-$30. FRIDAY, JUNE 28:

The classic rock band Rosewood performs on Friday, June 28, 2019, from 6 pm to 8 pm outside Madison’s Museum of Early Trades and Crafts, 9 Main St., (973) 377-2982. Free.  This Friday-night summer series is presented by the museum and the Madison Downtown Development Commission.

The Folk Project’s Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series in Morris Township presents a special Summer of Love sing-along show, Songs of the Sixties, featuring Folk Project members, at 7.30 pm. Blues legend Buddy Guy comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm. Tickets: $49-$99. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.
