They call Morris Plains the Community of Caring, and everyone who participates in the annual Memorial Day Parade knows that’s true.
MorristownGreen.com has marched in the Plains since 2008, and the borough always has welcomed us with open arms. From former Mayor Frank Druetzler and parade Chairman Steve Welsh to new mayor Jason Kaar and the volunteers along the route and at the VFW, everybody has been terrific.
They know how to throw a fun parade, without losing sight of the reason we all gather over the Memorial Day weekend.
A giant thank you to them. And special thanks to our Morristown Green brigade, who made Saturday a sunny treat.

Many thanks to Katharine Boyle for her outstanding photo coverage.
And a big tip of the ukulele to our merry marching band (in alphabetical order):
Beth Bachmann, Susan D’Alessandro, Ro Foster, Kevin and Mary Glynn,
Bob Kammer, Leslie Raff, Mike and Betty Sagurton, and Danny Vento.
Ro found our patriotic tunes and Beth printed them in creative ways. (Ukes don’t afford much space for cutting-and-pasting!) Thanks, ladies. And thanks to the Morristown Uke Jam for preaching the four-stringed gospel to us all.
Rest up, friends. The St. Patrick’s Parade is only 10 months away!
