Cookouts. Family. Friends. Summer.

Memorial Day Weekend is all these things. And we are free to enjoy them because of sacrifices by generations of brave men and women in our armed forces.

This holiday, let’s make sure to remember them.

Scroll down to see Memorial Day events. Check our handy calendar for even more activities–and add your own events, too.

Newly retired Mayor Frank Druetzler, who initiated the parade in the 1980s, will dust off his trademark Uncle Sam suit one more time, as Grand Marshal. Will Mayor Jason Kaar suit up, too? A free cookout, with kiddie attractions, follows at the VFW on Route 53.
