From the Morristown police:
The Morris County Department of Engineering will commence a six-day milling and paving operation on South Street beginning Friday, May 10, 2019. The project will start in Morris Township near Blackberry Lane and will affect the roadway in the area of Route 287 next week.
On Monday through Thursday next week, May 13-16, South Street from Madison Avenue to Blackberry Lane will be both milled and paved between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm.
Alternating traffic on the Morris Township side of the operation will affect traffic on South Street into Morristown. When the operation shifts to the western side of Exit 35 of Route 287, traffic will have enough space to move in both directions around the project.
Despite the traffic pattern, delays are to be expected and alternate routes sjould be taken to travel around the work zone.
Remember that access to medical complexes off of South Street can be gained via Southgate Parkway off of James Street in Morris Township. This will be an effective alternate route to those locations.
Please use caution when traveling in this area beginning Friday. Barring a weather delay, the project is scheduled to be completed next Friday, May 17.
