THURSDAY, FEB. 14, 2018:  VALENTINE’S DAY:

The Morristown & Township Library presents Toolin’ Through Art, a free 2 pm talk about images of hand tools in famous artworks. The talk will be delivered by experts from Madison’s Museum of Early Trades & Crafts.  At One Miller Road, Morristown.

Easy Living posterScrewball film comedies continue at the Morristown & Township Library with a free 6:45 pm screening of Easy Living, starring Jean Arthur and Ray Milland. Bonus shorts include Laurel & Hardy, Three Stooges and Little Rascals. Light refreshments will be served. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

If that’s not romantic enough, take your sweetie to the 7 pm meeting of the Morristown Redevelopment Entity. Because nothing says “I love you” like two hours of testimony about a live-work apartment complex proposed for Morris Street. Free (though trust me, it will cost you), at town hall, 200 South St.

FRIDAY, FEB. 15:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Minstrel in Morris Township presents Quentin Callewaert with opener Russ Rentler, at 7:30 pm. Admission: $10; children 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

Disney’s DCappella comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm. Tickets: $39-$89. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.


SATURDAY, FEB. 16:

The Morris Museum’s exhibition on firefighting presents a 1 pm lecture by Robert P. Fredericks, author of The Flame Fighters of Morristown: The Morristown Fire Department, 220 years of Serving the People of Morristown 1797-2017. Included with museum admission. The exhibit runs through Feb. 28, 2019. At 6 Normandy Heights Road, Morris Township.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church presents the Columbia University Clefhangers a cappella group in a benefit concert for the church’s programs for the Spanish community. An optional Spanish-themed dinner with drinks starts at 6:30 pm, followed by the show at 7:30 pm. Admission: $35 with dinner, $20 concert only. At South Street and Miller Road, Morristown.

The Morristown United Methodist Church presents the City Winds Trio at 7:30 pm. Suggested donation: $25 adults/$20 seniors; Students Free with ID; advance tickets $22/$17 by calling 973-538-2132. At 50 South Park Place.


SUNDAY, FEB. 17:

The Morris County Winter Farmers Market continues its sixth season, every Sunday morning from 10 am to 1 pm through March 31, 2019, at Morristown’s Alexander Hamilton School, 24 Mills St. Presented by the Foodshed Alliance and Grow It Green Morristown.

The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 3 pm, with a program of Verdi, Shostakovich and Zhanhao & Gang. Conducted by Zhang Guoyong and featuring violinist Hua Hui. Tickets: $39-$69. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.


 

MONDAY, FEB. 18, PRESIDENTS DAY:

The Museum of Early Trades and Crafts in Madison presents a Kids Mini-Camp from 1 pm to 3 pm. For grades K-5, the program will explore what inspired children in the 1800s. Admission: $10 per child, $8 for Members. Registration required. At 9 Main St.,  (973) 377-2982.

American Girl Live comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center for shows at 2 pm and 5:30 pm. For ages 5 and up. Tickets: $29-$79. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.
