Morris Township police charge man with three business burglaries

Morris Township Police arrest individual for early morning Burglaries and Thefts to businesses on Speedwell Avenue.

On Jan. 28, 2019, a Burglary and Theft was reported at the Sack’s Shell Gas Station located on Speedwell Avenue in Morris Township. The suspect stole cash from the location.

On Feb. 4, 2019, a Burglary and Theft was reported at Centro Americanos Restaurant located on Speedwell Avenue in Morris Township. The suspect stole cash from the location.

During the same time frame on Feb. 4, 2019, the suspect attempted to gain forced entry into the neighboring Mario’s Pizza Restaurant also located on Speedwell Avenue in Morris Township.

Morris Township Patrol Officers and Detectives were able to identify a suspect for the three incidents and he was arrested on Tuesday evening, Feb. 6, 2019, on Max Drive, Morris Township.

The arrested male is identified as David Brady, a 46-year-old white male, from Morris Township. Mr. Brady was charged with Burglary, Attempted Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief and Possession of Burglary tools. Mr. Brady was released pending a court appearance.

Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity at the time it is observed. Residents are also encouraged to take preventative measures to protect their homes from potential burglars.

Some preventative tips include making your residence appear occupied, leaving lights on at night only, park a vehicle in your driveway and remove packages and mail from outside your home.
