From Baez to bluegrass, from Schumann to Tusk, Greater Morristown offers musical adventures this weekend.

There are old-fashioned adventures, too — or tales about them, at least–and magic tricks as well.

THURSDAY, JAN. 24, 2019:

The Music at Noon series continues at the Morristown United Methodist Church with The Prometheus Duo–pianist Marko Stuparevic and saxophonist Joseph Abad. Suggested donation: $10/$8 seniors. Lunch available for purchase at 11:30 a.m., $8/$7 seniors. Music begins at 12:15 p.m. At 50 South Park Place, across from the Morristown Green, 973-538-2132.

FRIDAY, JAN. 25:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Minstrel in Morris Township presents Joan & Joni, a musical tribute to Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell by Allison Shapira and Kipyn Martin, at 7:30 pm. Admission: $10; children 10 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

SATURDAY, JAN. 26:

Choral fans are in for a treat, from 3 pm to 5 pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown: The NJ Youth Chorus high school girls group Coriste performs with the Trinity Youth Chorus from New York. Free. At South Street and Miller Road.

SUNDAY, JAN. 27:

The Morris County Winter Farmers Market continues its sixth season, every Sunday morning from 10 am to 1 pm through March 31, 2019, at Morristown’s Alexander Hamilton School, 24 Mills St. Presented by the Foodshed Alliance and Grow It Green Morristown.

Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center presents the New Jersey Symphony, conducted by Xian Zhang and featuring pianist Daniil Trifonov performing Schumann’s concerto, at 3 pm. Tickets: $43-$92. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.

Several Folk Project favorites will perform with the PetroGrass band at 3 pm, at Temple Beth Or Beth Torah, in Clark.  The group includes Olga Alvarez and Russ and Nancy Kelner, playing folk, bluegrass, country and Celtic music.
