New COO Brings Extensive Experience as Former Philanthropy, Advocacy, Business and Legal Executive at Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation, Novartis, BAE Systems, T-Mobile & Verizon 

Cornerstone Family Programs on Thursday announced the appointment of Ayo Sanderson Wilson to Chief Operating Officer & Executive VP.  

The 200-year-old, privately-run social service agency, which oversees the funding and delivery of services to over 7,000 people per year across Morris County, will benefit from Ms. Sanderson Wilson’s addition to the leadership team given her deep experience in senior philanthropy, advocacy and legal roles at major corporations and institutions.

Ms. Sanderson Wilson was most recently Vice President, Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation and Head of Strategic Operations and Giving for the Comcast NBCUniversal Community Impact team, where she advised on the funding and support of programs and nonprofits aimed at promoting community service, building tomorrow’s leaders and expanding digital literacy. 

Previously, she served as Executive Director and Head of Advocacy and Strategic Alliances at Novartis. She served on the US Pharma Senior Leadership Team responsible for strategy and innovation in supporting non-profit healthcare and philanthropic organizations dedicated to addressing the unmet needs of patients and caregivers to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. 

Prior to Novartis, Ms. Sanderson served as Legal Director – Electronic Systems at BAE Systems, where she was general legal counsel for the Communications & Controls Solutions business area. 

Earlier in her career, she held legal counsel and business positions at T-Mobile and Verizon, following roles at law firms, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Field LLP and Lowenstein Sandler PC.  

She holds a JD from Columbia University School of Law and a BA from The Johns Hopkins University.  Ayo and her husband, Mark Wilson, have been residents of Morristown for over a decade, raising their two children, Jana (21) and Taj (18) here for more than a decade.
