Rained out: No Solstice celebration for Grow It Green, Dec. 21. But Greater Morristown has another option

Bonfires and monsoons don’t go together.

In other words, Grow It Green Morristown’s Solstice celebration is a washout.

It was planned for Friday evening, Dec. 21, 2018, at the Early Street Community Garden. But the soggy forecast –police are urging people to stay inside–convinced Grow It Green Executive Director Erica Colace to pull the plug, so to speak.

However, those who still wish to commemorate the shortest day of the year can do so while staying dry:

The Center for Spiritual Living Morristown presents A Walk Through The Seasons: Winter Solstice at 7:30 p.m.

It will feature performances by singer Rhonda Denet, accompanied by pianist Mike Bardash, and inspirational celebrations, prayers and sharing. Admission is free (goodwill donations are welcomed), and refreshments will be served afterward.

The Center is at 331 Mount Kemble Ave. in Harding, 973-539-3114.
