With cold weather forecast for the next few nights, Morristown will re-open the Fire House as a warming center, Mayor Tim Dougherty’s office announced on Tuesday.

The station at 161 Speedwell Ave. will offer refuge from the weather between 4:30 pm and 8:30 a.m., concluding on the morning of Friday, Dec. 14, 2018.

  1. Check out this firehouse and picture an improved facility on Morris St. Instead of the proposed apt. complex, described in the other article in this issue. A far more suitable location and a suitable facility facility, promised more than 50years ago, when the problems with the Speedwell location were first identified. Our Firefighters and EMT people deserve more for the service they perform for our Town every day.
