THURSDAY, DEC. 6, 2018:

The Donny & Marie Holiday Show comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 7:30 pm. Tickets: $79-$200. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison presents The Winter’s Tale, in previews at 8 pm. Tickets start at $29. Runs through Dec. 30, 2018. At 36 Madison Ave., 973-408-5600.

FRIDAY, DEC. 7:

Morning Yoga with Munah Hayes returns to the Morristown & Township Library at 9:30 am. Free. Bring a yoga mat. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Ninth Annual Gingerbread Wonderland Craft Show continues from 10 am to 7:30 pm at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township, and runs through Sunday. Admission: $2, gains entry to Gingerbread Wonderland and the Holiday Craft Show and Gingerbread Wonderland. Children under age 2 are free. At 353 East Hanover Ave., 973-326-7601.

Holiday CraftMorristown kicks off its weekend at the Morristown Armory from 4 pm to 8 pm. Weekend admission: $$8-10; children 16 & under, free. At 430 Western Ave., Morris Township.

The Morristown & Township Library presents a free concert by the Metropolitan Saxophone Quartet at 7 pm. Doors open at 6:45 pm. Read more here. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

It’s Chorus Song Night at The Minstrel in Morris Township. Sing along with four Folk Project favorites, starting at 7:30 pm. Admission: $10; children 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown hosts a Piano Bar at 8 pm, in its Great Hall. Beverages, snacks and four hours of sing-along show tunes. Admission: $20. Proceeds benefit the St. Peter’s Choir School. At Miller Road and Maple Avenue.

The 98 Degrees at Christmas tour comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm. Tickets: $39.50 to $89.50. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.


SATURDAY, DEC. 8:

Hear future violin virtuosos at the Rhythms for Life Holiday Concert, at 11 am at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship in Morris Township. Admission: $25/person, $25/family. Featuring students from Edward’s Violin Studio and the Morristown Neighborhood House. Proceeds benefit Rhythms for Life, the after-school music program at the Nabe, and Morris County Links Inc. The concert is at 21 Normandy Heights Road.

The Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green roars ahead from noon to 7 pm with Santa visits, ornament-making, ice sculpting, holiday music by the Mayo Performing Arts Company and free train rides. Presented by the Morristown Partnership.

Assumption Church in Morristown hosts its ninth annual Christmas Market, from 2 pm to 7 pm. Arts, crafts, cookies and more. Proceeds benefit Africa Surgery Inc. and The Village Angels of Tanzania. At 91 Maple Ave.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison presents The Winter’s Tale, in previews at 2 pm, opening night at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $29 for previews, $49 for opening. Runs through Dec. 30, 2018. At 36 Madison Ave., 973-408-5600. 

The Folk Project presents Of a Winter’s Night, a special concert with banjo legend Tony Trischka, at 7:30 pm at The Minstrel in Morris Township. Admission: $20 in advance, $25 at the door. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey presents Maestro Robert Butts’ holiday opera and concert, Auld Lang Syne, at 7:30 pm at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 1799 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne. Tickets: $20.

The 100-voice Harmonium Choral Society, led by Artistic Director Anne Matlack, presents Navidad Nuestra, a program of Christmas works from South and Central America, at 8 pm at the Morristown United Methodist Church. Tickets: $20-$25 in advance, $25-$30 at the door. At 50 South Park Place. An encore performance is scheduled for Sunday at 3 pm.

SUNDAY, DEC.9:

The Ninth Annual Christmas Market continues at Assumption Church in Morristown from 7 am to 2 pm. See Saturday entry for details.

The Morris County Winter Farmers Market is back for its sixth season, every Sunday morning from 10 am to 1 pm through March 31, 2019, at Morristown’s Alexander Hamilton School, 24 Mills St. Presented by the Foodshed Alliance and Grow It Green Morristown.

The Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green continues from noon to 7 pm with Santa visits, holiday card-making, ice sculpting, music by the Original Music School and free train rides.

Spend An Afternoon With Thomas Nast, courtesy of the Morristown & Township Library and the Macculloch Hall Historical Museum. Meet at 1:30 pm in the lower level meeting room of the library, at One Miller Road, Morristown, to view two half-hour documentaries about the 19th century political cartoonist. The group then will walk to Macculloch Hall for a guided tour of the Nast Christmas exhibit. (Nast gave us the popular image of Santa Claus.) RSVP here.
