From Grow It Green Morristown:

WEEKLY INDOOR MORRIS COUNTY WINTER FARMERS’ MARKET RETURNS DECEMBER 2
Foodshed Alliance Farmers’ Access Network partners with Grow It Green Morristown

The weekly indoor Morris County Winter Farmers’ Market at Alexander Hamilton School, 24 Mills St., Morristown, will return on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, and run through March 31, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This year, the Foodshed Alliance is partnering with Grow It Green Morristown to produce the market.

This market features local foods, all grown, produced and/or raised within a short radius of the area. Eating and shopping locally is now something we can do year-round not just during the summer!

Foodshed Alliance Executive Director Kendrya Close explains, “We want to provide all residents in the area with a centralized location to obtain fresh, locally grown and produced meats, cheeses, breads and produce all grown by our farmers within our foodshed. Doing this the entire year only serves to strengthen our sense of community and continue to foster a locally resilient economy!”

The partnership with Grow It Green Morristown is designed to strengthen the market’s roots within the community and foster greater relationships and visibility within the county.

“Grow It Green Morristown has been a vendor in the market since its inception, and it seemed like a great fit. We’re excited to partner with the Foodshed Alliance this season to connect more people to fresh, local food throughout the year,” said Erica Colace, executive director, Grow It Green Morristown.

Stop in Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and view the wide selection of everything from meat to cheese, honey, prepared foods, seafood, baked goods, artisan breads and more winter produce than ever.

The following vendors join us on a weekly basis: Apple Ridge Farm, Chickadee Creek Farm, Glenmalure Farm, Local 130 Seafood, Oldwick Soup Company, Paulo’s Kitchen, Picklelicious and PK’s Four Brothers Farm.

These vendors come once a month or more: Bay Berry Bliss, Bobolink Dairy and Bakehouse, Fulper Family Farm, Luxx Chocolate, Pies and Quiches, Stefan’s Polish Food, Three Daughters Baking Co. and Valley Fall Farm. See MorrisWinterFarmersMarket.com for a schedule.

The winter market is now entering its sixth year, and demand for the market from consumers continues to grow, as does the demand from farmers for a consistent outlet for their goods. This market represents a win-win opportunity, with the market now running on a weekly basis.

The Foodshed Alliance is pleased to now offer SNAP benefits at the winter market. Please stop by the Foodshed Alliance table before shopping. Please visit www.morriswinterfarmersmarket.com for more information.
