THURSDAY, NOV. 22, 2018:
Happy Thanksgiving!
The 12th annual Morris Township Turkey Trot at Ginty Field opens for registration at 7 am; the 5K starts at 8:30 am with a one-mile Fun Run/Walk and Kids Trot to follow. Proceeds benefit the Interfaith Food Pantry and Literacy Volunteers of Morris County. Registration: $10-$35.
The Market Street Mission in Morristown hosts its annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner, starting with a 3 pm chapel service, followed by dinner from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. There is no charge for the meal and all are welcome to attend. Public generosity enables the Mission to serve approximately 220 meals daily to men, women and children who need help, and to provide clothing, recovery and shelter programs. FRIDAY, NOV. 23:
The Minstrel in Morris Township presents the quartet Windborne at 7:30 pm, with opener Maia McCormick. Windborne was invited to headline after opening for Frank Vignola in June. Admission: $10; children 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.
Manhattan Comedy Night returns to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm. Mature themes, language; adults only. Tickets: $25-$30. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.
SATURDAY, NOV. 24:
The Wizards of Winter bring their holiday concert to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm. Tickets: $29-$59. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.
SUNDAY, NOV. 25:
A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center for shows at 1 pm and 4 pm. Tickets: $29-$69. At 100 South St., 973-539-8008.
Santa Claus returns to the Morristown Green for another Yule season, starting at 5 pm with his arrival on the roof of the Century 21 store. Music, hot chocolate and visits with Santa will follow. And Santa will be back, along with special activities, each weekend until Christmas, as the Morristown Partnership presents the Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green.
