Video: Morristown football player with Down syndrome scores big with first touchdown

Morristown High did not get onto the scoreboard, officially, at last weekend’s Homecoming game against Delbarton.

But Kevin Hasenbein did reach the end zone for the Colonials, a touchdown that will count for anyone who saw it.

Kevin, 19, has Down syndrome. He transferred recently to Morristown High, where his brother Eric plays on the football varsity. Kevin had been helping the team in practices, but yearned to play.

He got his chance on Saturday, sprinting 80 yards to glory.

Both sides participated to make the golden moment happen. Here’s video from WCBS TV:
