Could the Morristown Partnership have chosen a better day than Sunday for its 24th annual Morristown Festival on the Green?

We doubt it.

Thousands came downtown for a sunny, comfortable afternoon of music, food and fun.

The event broke its record for vendors and sponsors, with 170, according to the Partnership’s Karen Carvelli.

Carvelli said the Festival culminated about four months of planning.

“A lot of it is renewable events, but we always try to add something new.

“This is the second year for the Beer Tent, but this time we partnered with the Famished Frog. Their expertise in running a festival together with ours is terrific, there are lines around the block,” Carvelli said.

Also new: Carnival games for small kids, and a country band.

And the Presbyterian Church in Morristown held its annual Blessing of the Animals.
