Editor’s note: Over the summer, vehicles have been stolen from residences in Morris Township, where a number of burglaries and attempted break-ins also have been reported. This time, thieves struck in Morristown:

Vehicle stolen from Georgian Road.
On 09/13/2018 at approximately 10:30 am, Morristown Police were dispatched to a residence on Georgian Road on a report of a vehicle that had been stolen.
On arrival, officers spoke to a resident who advised that a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee had been taken from the roadway in front of the residence during the overnight hours.
According to the resident, it appeared that the keys to the locked vehicle had been
removed from inside the house.
Detectives responded to the scene and conducted an investigation which determined that there had been no forced entry into the residence. The homeowner advised that it appeared an exterior door had accidentally been left unlocked overnight.
Residents are reminded to remain vigilant and to ensure that all exterior doors and windows are locked.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing at this time and anyone who may have observed anything suspicious is asked to contact police at 973-538-2200.
