Presbyterian Church in Morristown to discuss Kenya project, Sept. 15

From the Presbyterian Church in Morristown:

The Presbyterian Church in Morristown (PCM)has been working with the Foundation for Peace to rebuild the Living Word Church and Community Center in Mathare North, Nairobi, Kenya.

The project is nearing completion, but there is still a need for additional resources to help finish the job. The gathering to experience the mission work and hear what is being done there will be held on Sept. 15, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., at the Parish House of The Presbyterian Church in Morristown at 65 South St.

An officer of the Living Word Church who distributes Bibles in over 200 languages to Kenyan residents will be here to tell us the amazing story of how this large Nairobi slum area is being transformed, with the love and commitment of local people working hand in hand with mission groups such as our own.

Several of the PCM church members have participated in the ongoing work in Mathare, where free medical clinics, a bakery for self-development, and other community services are being provided not only to church members, but to all residents of the community, free of charge.

We know that not all of us are able to go to Kenya to engage with the people and experience the mission work being done there.  So this is an opportunity for the public to learn and help.

Entertainment will include a slide show, and light refreshments will be provided. Freewill donations to support the project should be made out to Foundation for Peace, with Mathare North project in the memo line.

Please RSVP your attendance  here, along with any questions.  Watch this video.
