The College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, N.J., ranked third among New Jersey private colleges and universities, behind only Princeton University and Stevens Institute of Technology, in Money magazine’s “Best College for Your Money in 2018” list.

Money magazine ranks public and private colleges and universities throughout the country based on 26 unique factors in three categories: quality of education, affordability and outcomes. Additionally, value is calculated by assessing how well a college performs on important measures such as graduation rates, post-graduation earnings, student loan repayment and default rates.

This year, Money analyzed how well institutions support low-income students by tracking the number of Pell Grant recipients a school graduates.

“We are proud of our placement on Money magazine’s ‘Best College in 2018’ list because it underscores CSE’s core values of integrity, social responsibility, leadership and excellence,” said Helen J. Streubert, president of the College of Saint Elizabeth. “Our belief is that everyone deserves the opportunity to earn a college degree that is both affordable and beneficial for career advancement.”

Of the 727 schools listed, the College of Saint Elizabeth ranked in the top 26 percent nationwide. When including both public and private schools, CSE ranked eighth out of 21 in New Jersey after Princeton, The College of New Jersey, Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Ramapo College of New Jersey, Stevens Institute of Technology, Montclair State University and Rowan University.

Earlier this year, the College of Saint Elizabeth also ranked in the top 100 nationwide for adult student programs and outcomes by Washington Monthly, the only New Jersey College to receive this recognition.
