The bad news: Another year of Music Beyond Borders has drawn to a close.
The good news: The lunchtime concert series will return for a 10th season next summer.
That’s according to Ed Kirchdoerffer, general manager of the Mayo Performing Arts Center, which presents Music Beyond Borders with Morris Arts.
He made the announcement after Tuesday’s performance by Tavche Gravche, a New York-based trio that filled the steamy Morristown Green with sounds from Macedonia and the Mediterranean.
The band consists of Juilliard-trained clarinetist Vasko Dukovski, who hails from Macedonia, and Israel natives Dan Nadel on guitar and Daniel Orsi on bass. Here’s a video from the concert:
Kirchdoerffer thanked Dr. Lynn Siebert of Morris Arts for booking the artists, along with the Trustees of the Morristown Green and members of the Morristown United Methodist Church for providing venues.
And if you were wondering, tavche gravche is the Macedonian national dish, a mixture of beans and other vegetables prepared in a skillet — fitting for a hot combo on a 90-degree afternoon.
