From the Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center:

The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) has been recognized by the New Jersey State Governor’s Jefferson Awards as an honoree in the Group Volunteer Organization category during their ceremony and celebration of volunteerism at the War Memorial in Trenton on June 2, 2018.

Each year, the New Jersey State Governor’s Jefferson Awards highlight the spirit of civic engagement of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, many among New Jersey’s 1.5 million volunteers.

The Jefferson Awards were established in 1972 as the official recognition program of the United States Senate and are considered America’s highest honor for public service and volunteerism.

Established in 1893, WAMMC is celebrating it’s 125th Anniversary and is one of the oldest and most successful fundraising organizations in the country.

A philanthropic partner of the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center since 1985, WAMMC is an integral part of the hospital’s ability to continue to bring cutting-edge technology and superior health service to the community.

To date, WAMMC has raised more than $30 million to support this mission.
